Dear Sister
It is with the greatest
pleasure I now take up my pen to answer yours,
which we recieved [received?] a few days ago, we are
well at present thank God for it, hoping this will
find you enjoying the same blessing. The weather is
good at present and people is cutting corn we will be
at on Monday D.V. [Deo volente?] we have a good deal of
it this year and the harvest is late I dont know how we
will do we havent got the turf home yet. we have got the
hay all up, though this was a very backward summer there
is (sic) great deal of potatoes rotten on account of the
wet summer we have a good many rotten in the drills but I
think they will not be so bad in the ridges we had none
destroyed with frost this year because we had them in new
ground we will have a good crop of them the corn is not
very good the [this?] year in general but flax is. there
is seven shillings per [st?] [stone?]
in Omagh on Saturday last
Are you not in the same place or have you changed
places lately have you to work very hard there, or
is there a large family you will soon be rich enough
to come home. Mother was in the fair yesterday and sold
two sheep she says they are a very good price and
cattle is doing very well too. Butter is 10 pence per lb
and the (sic) 9 pence per dozen I was in Church today
and it is Mr Williamson's last day in it, he came to
Sunday School And called and he gave a good farewell
lesson & left goodbye with us, and his blessing we were
very sorry to see him the last time he is going away
the day after tomorrow he will be very sorry to
go away And he loved Sunday School so well he said he
hoped that we would attend as long as we were able and
in the country he asked me to remember him to you were
(sic) so long at it....
