| Transcript | Fresno City June 4 1888 Dear Cousin I [it?] is with pleasure I take up my pen to answer your kind & welcome letter which I recieved [received?] about two weeks ago which gave me much pleasure to find that you were well hoping that this will find yous [you?] enjoying the same blessing as it leaves me at present to thank our most heavenly father for those blessings I must let you know that I recieved [received?] a letter from my brother that is the first I have recieved [received?] since I have been in the states I had written to him twice but never recieved [received?] an answer as he sold out his former place & went up on the richmond river where he bought 200 acres on the river for 900 œ he says it is a young ireland around where he is living I dare say God knew Lizzie Johnston of Colaghty & Bob of the Mill was married and is living on a farm not a mile from him he is in the dairy business he is going to start a store he wanted me to go out to manage it for him he offered me 50 œ per year & board but I can do better than that here yet for a while we are expecting a big boom this summer fruits of all kinds are coming into the market now and harvesting has just commenced every kind of grain will be below the average owing to the dry spring it is very warm at present we are going to have a great time on the 4 of July here they are making preparations for it all ready [already?] give my best regards to your sister Bella as I have no time to write to her now as I am going out west in the morning about 50 miles with a load & I have got to square up tonight so I must conclud [conclude?] by sending my best respects to you I remain your sincere Friend & cousin N.
