| Transcript | st Fresno 1/10/89 Dear Cousin It is with pleasure I answer your cheerful and ever welcome letter which I received yesterday. I was glad to hear from you & also about you being well. I was beginning to think that perhaps you had left that place or had went home as girls of your age is often notionate. I have got through thrashing I am working for the Gas & Electric Light Company now the hours is not quite so long we work ten hours per day. I am getting $60 per month but I have to pay twenty for board Dear Annie I think from your letter you are pretty near as lonesome as myself as for them daughters of eve you had reference to there is none of them out here eve never got as far west here as California therefore the girls are all saints or claim to be. I must return many thanks for your generous offer and invitation I wish I was able to take a trip over there anyhow although I dont think there is a great chance for you being a widow except you have some old rich bug in view & intends to get away with him after you get his money but one advice I give you never marry for riches whatever you do I may get out of fresno in the course of 6 or 8 months & if I do I may go over to Michigan & give you my ad [torn] [advice?] on it. I will tell you one thing I would like to have if I am not intruding to [too?] far it is a full size picture of yourself time makes changes you know it is two years since I had the other. I will have some taken first chance myself and send you one. the weather is very fine here now it is neither hot nor cold the wheat is pretty near all hauled now. we are having a great fair here this week it will last four days the town is crowded with people I wont get any chance to get out at all we have so much work to do at present and I am a new hand Well I have not much more to say at present hoping that this will find you enjoying good health as it leaves me, give my best regards to Bella & I want you to stick up to that proposition you made concerning writing for I am certain there must have been a letter lost some how for I was waiting for an answer for a long while before I wrote again I remain Your Sincere Cousin Willie Weir please write soon |
