| Transcript | Savannah Jun 20, 1763 I had ye Pleasure some time ago of receiving a letter from my Dr. [Dear?] Sister Macky & would have answered it sooner but it really was not in my Power. I think your long Silence was very excusable but hope Mr. Macky [Mackey?] is now recovered & as to Nursing 'tis what we must all expect, so that need be no interruption to our correspondence. I am greatly obliged to you for yr [your?] regard you express for me & I think myself very much indebted to ye [the?] Person that has given me so good a Character, if we ever have ye [the?] Pleasure of meeting hope we shant be Disappointed, for I assure you I promise myself a good deal of happiness with you if we should ever see each other. I have a relation just come from ye [the?] west Indies, he left your Father & Brothers well, the old Gentleman now left Mr. Taylor & lives with one Milikin, [Milliken?] but I hope he won't be there long, as your Brother is now in hopes of bringing your father with him to Georgia, but my relation tells me he won't come as Tom has used him so ill that he says he wll not put it in a Childs Power again to use him ill. He may trust Mr. Wylly, for I am sure it would be his Study to make him happy, Indeed, my Alick will do every thing that's in his Power to settle my father in Georgia, if he can't Prevail on him to come here, he will try to get him to go home, as he can't bear the thought of his being in any one's employ. I wish you Joy of your Son & don't doubt his being a fine Boy, I have an addition to my family since you Heard from me last, a fine girl & the very Picture of my Alick, her Name is [Sukey?]. Please to give my Love to Mr. Mackey. Capt. [Galeard?] & his Lady I hope they are well, I intend to write to Sally But I had so many Letters to answer that I am quite tired so must conclude with assuring you that I sincerely long to see you & till I can have that Pleasure a Close Correspondence with you will add greatly to ye [the?] happyness [happiness?] of your most affect [affectionate?] Sister S.Wylly. |
