TranscriptDear Matty New York 4 April 1787
Annexed is Copy of what I wrote you
the 7th past & the 30th your Welcome favour
of the 24 Decm. [December?] by way of Philad
[Philadelphia?] as its marked first into the
Post Office with you the 9 Jany [January?] had
you not least enquire into this affair, it came
[havish?] later than if it had come by the Mail, I had
observed your directions when Joind [joined?] any
thing in future. We had two Bishops went
in the Mar [March?] pacquet to be Consecrated, you
see Episcopacy increases here the [they?] talk
of one for each State. I thank God I have
been pretty well this Winter [Ive?] now
a few Select friends than formerly who treats
me very politely. Your Recommendation
makes me think [less?] of the Treatment I
have [---?] than I woud [would?] otherways
& you may be afeared [afraid?] I am doing
every thing in my power to see you soon &
flatter myself what I wrote
Mr Isaac will be pleasing to you. I do not
doubt your acting right & I hope you are
quite reinstated in Health & that Molly
& Bill are well. The dispute between Lord
Donegal & the Baron will entail a good
deal of Work for the Lawyers, with respect
to the Bank there is always jealous parties yet
in trade in Doctor [Achructs?] character
is very well known here, make my
Compliments to Cousin Ann Bigger &
Mary Wills & with love to our Sisters
