Sir I recd [received?] your favor Decbr
[December?] with the Two [Nod?] Birds which came very safe
tho both were very lively when landed the one
Miss Polly Apthorp got is Dead, she is fond
of such pets & is so distressed for the loss of him
that I mention to send back the Cage for live
others by the bearer. I hope youl [you will?] be
able to procur [procure?] them, this boy has promised
to take care of them for which I shall reward him, you
see I pay some attention to the [ladies?] at last.
The 3rd Inst Mr Templeton writes me he
expectd [expected?] me to do something with respect
to the Bond the insult you shall know
