Jas [James?] & Robt [Robert?] Young Ballymena Ireland My dear Sir I need not tell you how sincerely I sympathize with you in your sorrow at the loss of your brother W. W. S. Redmond - though I did not know him per- sonally I was no stranger to your attachment to your brother and can appreciate how heavily the blow must fall upon you - As requested I have closed the a/c [account?] W.S.R. [William S. Redmond?] No 2 - and transferred the balance, being $111.94 [a.?] Debit - one half being $ 55.97 to the debit of WSR [William S Redmond?] No.1 - & onehalf [one half?] to my own a/c [account?] I enclose a statement of this a/c [account?] - you will perceive that the [Dr?] balance arose from interest. I have thought best to close out the Maupisa interest - it is not likely to advance much for the present and if you desire to reopen the speculation for your own a/c [account?] hereafter, you will be able probably to do so at about present figures - Meanwhile the a/c [account?] as per statement herewith shows a balance of audit per 19 May of $4398.0 I also enclose statement of a/c [account?] WSR [William S Redmond?] made up [to 1?] May showing balance [@.?] of ________$5808.98 and of your own a/c [account?] [to 1?] May showing a balance of ____________$40241.76 There is an error of interest in a/c WSR [William S Redmond?] & your own a/c [account?] arising from the transfer of the $1000 profit on a/c [account?] WSR [William S Redmond?] No 2 - [-?] 13th April instead of [-?] 31 Dec /67 [1867?] - to make the necessary correction I charge your a/c [account?] and credit a/c [account?] WSR #PAGE 2 [William S Redmond?] No 1 $17.33 being 104 days int [interest?] on $1000 - With this exception I trust you will find the a/c's [accounts?] [co---?] on examination. I could not have the statements made over in time for this packet which I do not wish to lose but trust you will excuse the error. My children are recovering from a long attack of whooping cough.
