Lurgan April the 11th 1846

Dear Uncle I take this oppertunity [opportunity?] of writing
to you to let you know that we are all well at present with
the exception of my Mother who is very poorly from the shortness
of breath especially in the morning still she is moving about thank God
for his goodness towards us hoping that these lines will find
you and your family in good health. dear Uncle, we have written
two letters to your [you?] these two seasons past and has
[have?] not received an answere [answer?] to either of them. my
mother is very uneasy to hear from you. Dear cousin I hope that
if your Father be dead you will have the goodness to write to
let my Mother know as he is the only one of the Famely [family?]
that she has living we have made every enquiry about my Aunt
Mary in Dublin and can get us account of her Patrick Reynolds
has been there sometime ago and made enquiry where She formerly
lived and could get us no account of her nor of any of her
Children. Pat is in a situation up the country in County
Wexford. Dear friend I have to inform you of the death of my
Uncle Michael Reynolds which took place in September 1844 after
a tedious ilness in the town of Belfast in the house of his
married daughter. I have also to announce to you the death of
the Eldest son Frances in Newry last September where he was
working as Journeyman Tailor and also the Death of one of his
daughters who lived in Belfast. she has left three sons behind
her, there is three of my Uncle Arthurs Daughters Married. two
of them has large Famelys [families?] and the other is lately
married. My Aunt Betty Still lives outside Moira and enjoys good
health as to our Famely [family?] there is no alteration in it
since you last heard from us. Trade at present is very bad
partly on account of the threatened war with America and from
other causes, we have had great Destruction of the potatoes in
this Country from a rot that took place in September which has
been felt all over Europe. provisions would have been very Dear
only that Government opened the Ports and let in provisions at
large quantity (sic) has landed from America and other Countries there
is a bill now in progress in Parliament if once pased [passed?]
would greatly benefit this Country there is a great many going
to America this Season from this Country one vessel is to sail
on Tuesday first the 14 of this month. My Brother Alex is still
Manufacturing Cambrick and has a deal of cloth on his hands. the
Bearer of this letter to you is one of his weavers a young man
with his wife who are lately married. her father has been there
for these 9 years past and has sent for them he is of the name
William Obrien [O Brien?]. he says if possible he will deliver
this letter personally to your hand as he is bound for the state
of Pensylvania [Pennsylvania?] since I began to write I have
received an account from the young man above alluded to where his
Fatherinlaw lives and where he is destined for the name is
Fairview Eric County State of Pensylvania [Pennsylvania?]. Dear
Uncle you have the goodness to write immeadetly [immediately?]
when you receive this letter as my Mother is anxious to hear
from you So no more at Present
but remain yours affectionaely [affectionately?]
