Transcript | Miss Annie Weir E.M Asylum Pontiac Hall 12 Mich [Michigan?] Detroit Jan 16th 1890. Dear Friend I at last take the pleasure of writing to you I received your letter the evening before you intended to come in the City I am not at the place I was on Hillis Ave. they think they can do their own work now for he is out of work and they could not afford to pay a girl so I got a place as soon as she told me she didn't need me any more. I am now at 63 Tuscola St. the 2nd house from the Crawford St. cars. The lady is sick in bed has a baby. I get $2.50 a week here and I have to have dinner at 12. o clock. So I could not meet you on the noon train and you didnt say in your letter what time you were going back in the evening if it was the 5 o clock or the 9 o clock so I didnt go down. Why dont Belle write (sic). I have written two letters to Belle that she has never answered, if she will write and send me her photo, I will in return send her one of mine for I am going down town to get them tomorrow. I was to get them the 27 of Dec. but I couldnt get away to go for them. I received a large bottle of perfume from Mrs Paull for Christmas that was all I got Christmas I have been home for a week sick I just came back again yesterday do you have the influenza in the Asylum have you heard from Will [Batt?] lately how is he getting along I guess John Thompson and Jim Young dont like the cold weather up in the woods I guess it is not as cold there as it is other winters The folks at home have all had the influenza but the all able to be about now (sic) Marians husband is working on the Michigan Ave Street car as car driver, some days he is on as conductor but he has to be on the car at 5 o clock in the morning he stays at his work good for (sic) he has been there about 3 months now and I guess when he is on another month he will be conductor I can think of no more news at this time write soon and tell Belle to write From Yours Truly M.
