| Transcript | Chicago Nov 30 1875 My Dear Mother I write you these few lines to let you know that we are all well and the schooners is all laid up safe for the winter and I hope this will find you all in the enjoying good health I was going to write often but something allways [always?] put me back booth [both?] Williams is well and I do not think that any of them will go home this winter Uncle William says he will go down south this winter and I think the other William will stay in chicago the say the [they?] will all go home next winter Sams Children was sick but the [they?] are better now I did not se [see?] Nancy this good bit my little boy is still living and my 3 other Children goes to school every day baby walks by Chairs I Call her Alice Isabella she is a very fine baby if William goes home I will get the Child likeness to send home to you I had part of a letter wrote before I will send it William Hastings is going home and John Stinson he was sailing with William all Summer I guess he will go to see you it is good that the [they?] are all laid up safe their was a great many accidents on the Lake this faul [fall?] and it it s great blessing the [they?] are all safe in dear mothers I hope you will excuse me for not writing before but I am kept so busy all the time I had a letter from Mrs Boyd asking about her daughter Margaret if you se [see?] any of them you might tell them she is well and was on this street on Sunday she got married about 2 months ago to a man from downpatrick the [they?] call him David obrine [O'Brien?] that is what she told me so she will not go home I think sister must not think to much about William for he is quite well and wee [we?] will all be kind to him if he stays all winter and it will do him good to se [see?] about him I will write to Eliza again I saw Molly McMaster she went to Canada again i neve [never?] went to see the Barrons or any of them I have little more to write this was a very dull season here for making money give my love to Sister and family and all enquiring friends with kind love to you and I hope you are in your yousel [youself?] health and I hope you will not be mad at me for not writing before this time with kind love I remain your affectionate daughter Isabella Martin some one write soon |
