My Dear Aunt,
We are expecting uncle
Willie home every day, and we are
all well at present.
I hope you are all
enjoying good health and that
Grandma's health is improving
Ma is thinking long for a letter
from you.
Uncle Sam and family
are all well and Aunt Nancy
and family are enjoying the
same.
I think aunt Nancy
will be in to see us, when Uncle
Willie will come home.
Your son William is in good
health and he is that busy
curting [courting?] that he has no time
to write.
He has his money lent out
and I don't think he will but a
schooner this season for times are
very dull.
James McGlifford brought
his bride to see us and I think
she is a very nice young lady.
We think he has made a
good choice and she is just as lucky
she asked us out to spend a week
or two in the country.
She had a lovely wreath
of orange blossoms and a beauty [beautiful?]
white veil and a handsome
bronze green silk dress trimmed
with old pink lace.
James was dressed nice and
looked splendid.
They came and stayed a couple
of days and brought some wedding
cake.
Katie will write a letter to
Grandma when Uncle Willie
comes.
We are all going to school and
this is Good Friday a National
Holiday so I did not have any schools
today.
That hood that uncle Willie
did not know about was for Lizz.
Eliza and Willie sent it to her
Hoping you are all enjoying
good health I close my letter
sending my love to Grandma
Aunt and Cousins.
Your Affectionate Niece
Maggie Martin

March 31,
Uncle Willie came home safe
Thursday. I have had this letter
written before but they forgot
to send it.
James McGlifford sent us a
picture of the [new?] wife and him
taken together. This is all at
present.
Maggie Martin.
