| Transcript | Miss Maggie Martin 3122 Rhodes Ave. Chicago Ill [Illinois?] May 20, 1890 3122 Rhodes Ave. Dear Aunt; We have not received any letter but I suppose you are home now How did you like the trip? Nellie was sure if you had our winds that you would be sea sick. We saw the arrival of the Teutonic in the paper. Ma has had such queer dreams about you. She thinks you are going to leave her entirely. She has been sick last week she had two very bad nose bleeds and is so weak now. The girls were home two 2 1/2 days with her but she would not have them stay home any longer. Kate and the baby and another little girl are coming from Denver this week. Sadie Thomas [Torn.....?] she was coming in fine so bless your heart. We won't have company. You ought to see how Alice and Nell work. The worst part of the work is the ironing and we all take turns at it. You would not know your bed-room with that cherry set of furniture in it. We bought a new oak set for the front room. Poor old Mamsey was in tonight and the kitten sports himself in the back yard. Will was thinking of putting a ribbon on its neck and giving it to his best girl. Some one sent you a paper and there is a letter from Mrs. Coulter here. We have had Eliza about three times a week. I must tell you that I have a large room at school with about twice as much work and not much more. |
