Dear Aunt
I have been in Denver visiting and am
home a week past.
I intended to write when I was away and
bought a stamp but that was all.
Nellie & Eddie Walsh Hattie O'Byrne &
myself were the happy visitors at Kate's.
I could not go with them because Ma was
sick. But I found company the Misses Lewis down
the street had never seen all of this wild & woole
West, So we travelled together and then boarded
near us in Denver
Seven of us went up in the mountains to
Manitou and stayed a week.
When you come back thats were we will go
but we must have our pockets well filled. We will
go up Pike's Peak up above the clouds and through
the Garden of the Gods and to the Caves and
everwhere I will be your guide.
Matie and Mr. Thomas not Sisson have
started house keeping on 22nd St.[Street?]
Mrs Thomas and Joe are coming over Joe
is going to astonish the High School folks.
Mary was here Friday. Jamie and Janie
are growing big
Jamie was in love with a Chinese doll
from Denver. I am wondering if the doll is broken.
Uncle willie likes sailing this year, I
have not seen William & Dickey for a long time.
Dickie played cards with the girls the last time
until 2 in the morning. Don't mention this.
Alice and Nellie are both going to High
School.
Anna MacRae is minding the house &
chickens for her Uncle.
Mr. Big Gun (alias Cannon) is studying
Law at Ann Arbor.
Willie thinks he will study Law this
Fall.
I must tell you that we met Mr. Warnock
and his party at Manitou one Sunday
We were surprised to see so many
Michigan people away out west.
But they all escaped home, no cow-boys
nor Indians stopped them on the way.
Mrs Lizzie McVea [McVeigh?] and Mrs
Patterson of Buffallo were visiting us.
Rachel Tibbs they say is married to Will
McVea.
Maggie Shaw is home from the country,
Katie was up and took Alice to a Picnic.
Bessie Reeder was over last week and
stayed 2 days I think I have given you all the
news.
Your old Beau is going to get married
soon.
I hope you are all well and send you
kind love to Cousins and friends.
PS' I send my little picture
Sincerely Maggie
