TranscriptFrankford April 2nd 1823
Dear sir, Sometime ago, I sent a letter to brother John from
whom I received no answer, & readily anticipating that he was
not in New york, or had not Got any intelligence from me.
I enclose you a few lines, hoping you will be so kind as to
answer them immediately & let me know what he is doing or
if yet in the city, In my letter I advised him not to Go
back to the British dominions: as it might be attended with
considerable danger: he stated in his letter that he had determined
on returning again which I fondly hope he has not done
I am in good health at present thanks be to the almighty benefactor
for his mercies, hoping these lines will find you and
[all?] my friends enjoying the same benediction the Winter
has been very severe in general; & great injury sustained
by fires in the City: if at any time you should hear of a place
worth my attention: you would confer a favour in letting me
know: I have some prospect of removing to Ge[rmna?]stown
5 miles distant; I have nothing particular at present to add:
but desiring to be remembered to Mr & Mrs Kennedy, I
subscribe my self yours truly Robert P McLorg
