| Transcript | 5533 Pearl St West Philadelphia. July 24. 99. J.E. Peel Esq. Dear Sir I take the liberty of writing to you to say that my sister H. M. [Lemon?] Markethill Co Armagh Ireland will be of age September 12th 1899 now as our father & mother are both dead I being the eldest of the family & her only sister feel it my duty to write to you to interest yourself in her behalf I want you to see her before she is of age in reference to her life insurance policy which is payable to her Sept 12th. 99 also about money in Post Office Saving Bank together with the ÷5.00 left her by my deceased brother Chas. [Charles?] this ÷5.00 was left Chas [Charles?] by my mother and he would not accept it but left it to my sister Machel [Michelle?] The reason I wish to have her leave her affairs in your hands is that she may be honestly treated by her brothers and get her rights according to mother's will, this Will you have in your possession I understand from yourself that her brother William. H. has got her to loan him money to pay her last premium this he had no right to do according to my mothers will as she gave him a considerable amount when he was studying medicine on conditions that he would pay my sister's life insurance premiums in return which I suppose she may have mentioned in her will he has also taken the policy from her & has it now in his possession I do not want my sister to loose money by my brothers the way I did. I loaned one of them ÷10.00 of it is lost to me now, so far as I could under- stand my brothers their motto was take all they could from me & I want you to see after my sisters affairs that she will be rightly treated by them please drop my sister a line to come over and see you and explain to her, her position, if she does not pay you, your fee please send the bill to me & I will remit Mr. Peel please do not make the charge very heavy I want you to collect her money & put in bank in her name also take charge of her bank book borrowing how kindly you saw after my affairs & believing you to be a righteous man I place full confidence in you. I am very glad to have to tell you that I have had a very happy life since I came to America I have found Christ I borrow him as my personal servant & so does my husband Trusting you will take charge of my sisters affairs I remain respectfully Sara J.
