A letter from a merchant at Edinburgh has
the following article; "I have received a letter
from a friend in Philadelphia, in which he advises
me to guard my countrymen against quitting
their native country to come there in hope
of mending their fortune; for confusion reigns
among the Americans at this time, and there is
no prospect of its being otherwise soon, as no regular
form of government is yet perfectly established,
and every one that is suspected of being
a Loyalist is harassed without mercy."
