TranscriptMy dear Perrin

I ought to have written to you
long since & sent you your £5,
but as I had not the money I
did not like to write. I shall start
for Melbourne in a few
hours by the 'Potossi'.
When coming away my father
promised to pay any money
I owed in L'pool [Liverpool?], so you
will receive a P.O. Order
next week, I hope. Many
thanks for it and all your
kindness to me.
I have not time to say more
yours faithfully A Byrne
