| Transcript | 3, Clarence Road, Victoria Park, Longsight, Manchester. July 28th 96 Dear Laurence, Mary ann and family, Just a few Lines to Let you Know I have made My Mind up to visit America. I secured my berth on the umbria of the cunard line. Will Sail from Liverpool on agust 8th and is Expected to arrive at Newyork agust 15th. I hope the voyage will do my health good. I expect Cousin Thomas Reynolds will Meet Me when the Ship arrives at Newyork. I have received Several Letters from him. He has given me great incouragment to Cross the atlantic. Nothing would please him and his family better than to See me. If all is well I will Spend a few days in Newyork before Starting for Chicago. William is wishfull for me to get back as Soon as possible. He thinks I can do it in 6 weeks. I Know he will feel my absence very much. But he does not mind that if the voyage will do me good. If 1 dont feel able for all the Jurney to Chicago and Uncle Johns I will stay at Newyork and That is If I dont feel Strong when I get to New York. If I feel able to do all the Jurney I will divide the time between the 3 places. I will Send you a Talagram when I am going to take train from Newyork. William and Myself are enjoying very good health at presant, thank god. I hope this Letter will find you all in the very best of health. We have had a very hot Summer in England this time, Somthing Like America. We have a chang this week, it has gon much colder, the weather doesnot Let us have much light cloathes here. We have been very Busy this Sason. William had a holiday in the Isle of Man. It is a very nice place. It don him a Lot of Good. I hope and trust in god I will Return back to old England better and Stronger. I have nothing more particular to tell you. I will bring all the news I can with me and we can talk it over.
