| Transcript | Ballyknock Febuary 6th 1876 Dear Grandaughter and Freinds It is with pleasure I take my pen in hand to write to you hoping this will find you in good health as this leaves us all at present. You may tell your mother that her that her Aunt Agness is dead and buried about a year ago and I am sorry to say that Patrick Catney is dead about 2 months ago Dear Fremds we are all well and doing as well as we can. We have one cow at present. I was very ill for a long time in the Summertime but thank God I am well again but it put us to a great dale of expence. Rebacka Herron is very ill at present in consumpton and had a third cfnld buried a short time ago and we dont expect she will be alive when this reaches you. She is leaving a child about 3 months old and it costs him about 5 Shilings a weeks and never name her illness. She is very comfortable and Isac pays a great dale of atenction to her. She says She is very happy to die only he is put to so much expence that its more than he can bare without help. Dear Joseph if you were here at present you would get Satisfaction of Mr St. George. He broke the bank of Hillsboro of 6 or 7 thousand pounds and he fled before it come out about it and he has been in the Huincry Since before Christhmas and the Family is in Kings town since. Your Mother wants Mary Sarahs likeness and Kittys wants little Kittys also for we would all like to see them very well. You wanted to Know of widow Kellys. She is very well of [off]. He had a bruery and she holds the buisness on. She sent his likeness in the coffon and has to send the picture of his tomb. Margaret Murry is dead and she left 140 pounds to the clergy of the parish. Margaret Hallady and Solomon is both dead and Kitty Hallady is dead also and a great manny of the old neighbours. We have got no word from torn yet and God Knows whats become of him. We sometimes think that he is dead for he was in bad health and thats two years ago but we will write to him in the next maill and if you have got any word from him you can please write and let us know. Kitty was dreaming about him. She thought he brought the Seed corn to the door on a barrow. I think we have no more perticulars at present.
