Gentlemen,
Having received from Georgia
a quantity of the notes of the late Confederate
States, expressed to be payable on demand
two years after the conclusion of a definitive
treaty of peace between the Confederate &
the United States, I have been referred to
you as being likely to [offer?] new
information as to the prospect of being
able to convert them into English money.
Any information you may have it in
your power to afford me on this matter
