| Transcript | 29 August 1906 My dear Mother Just a few lines to say that, coming from Adelaide yesterday a touch of the early days in Gort came back to me. On getting up I found that for miles round the hilly Ballarat country through which we were flying at about 45 miles an hour, the snow was about a foot deep. Nothing brings back Christmas as we used to know it more than such a sight. Snowballing at stations in Australia is a little unusual. The Horses in the Paddocks were sorely puzzled at the new kind of grass. After all, winter, at times, in the old country has its compensations. I am glad Agnes and Jack had a London trip. All our lot are fairly well—an occasional cold in the case of the children, as the season is irregular. With Love to all Your affectionate Son P. McM. Glynn |
