| Transcript | Kowai Pass June 21st 1875 My Dear Father and Mother I again address you hoping to find you all well in the enjoyment of good health as this leaves us at present. We are thinking long to hear from you as we never got a reply to the last letter which we sent to you on the sixth of January. But I hope we won't be long so Hamilton is much obliged for the book William sent him he likes it very much we received it all right on the seventh of May we expected a letter same time but did not get any and I can assure you we would have been most happy to have got one to hear how you were getting on. Dear Mother I must let you know how our two little boys is getting on John Robert keeps very thin but a very strong little fellow he sends a kiss to his grandma and little cousins. Babie is inclined to be stout and I cannot get it out of my head but that he is like his grandfather McIlrath he is just eight months old and I can assure you he is a fine boy of his age Hamilton and I sends your kind love to Father and Mother William and Mrs & family also John Mrs and family. We will send you a paper to let you see a little of the news of this country we had a good crop this year. But we got a new grainery built and has all our oats in store as prices is low at present as you will see by the paper.
