| Transcript | Augusta 6th Feby[February?] 1823 Dear Sir Inclosed[Enclosed?] you have Thos.[Thomas?] Scott's second bill dated Charleston 16th Jany.[January?] 1823 in my favour at thirty days on Doctr.[Doctor?] McCluney of your city for six pounds fifteen shillings British Sterling £6:15:0 equal to £7:6:3 Irish Sterling. The first of same was sent by Charleston; this goes by way of Savannah and is indorsed [endorsed?] to you or my brother James. You can apply it to pay the schooling of Wm.[William?] J.[John?] C. A.[Allen?]. Thos.[Thomas?] Scott was in great distress in Charleston for funds and could not get to his friend until I sent him this money. Bills run 1% premium on Europe. Yours very truly John Campbell present my love to my sister and all other friends.  |
