My Dear Joseph,
I wrote you with statement of your account
on the 9th of March showing a Balance in my favour of
œ73-12-5 (less overcharge 3/10) but had not the note of
sales ready which I now enclose and which was made
out at that time, waiting for an oppertunity [opportunity?]
with some other letter - I now write to Mrs Orbison which you will
have the goodness to Post for me on receipt. It was
cause of regret to me that your linens did not do better
but I have one satisfaction as you may have also that
I got them off the time I did. I saw elegant and well
made [%?] [marked?] lately 1300 4¬ and so on to 18 [?] I do
not know [whether?] 1900 were included / being 8 3/4 [union?]
set. I have been selling yours c3/6 6% [?] which John Irwin
is using for warps - I know of a lot being lately sold
@ 3/3 discount somewhere from 5% to 7«%. If however you have
had loss you may depend upon it, so have others - Business
men have suffered in England and Ireland within the last
12 mo [months?] beyond/ in some respects/ all known [mandates?].
I am thank God still with head above water and hoping for better
and labouring for better terms. I beg of you my dear Josp
[Joseph?] to help me by a remittance soon. soon. You know the
[-arnely?] / in all 12/ that I have, and any go back now might
[ruin?] me for after life & I lost more the last year than I was
able for - But [be?] that the Lord has helped me - Let me hear
from you soon - Hannah joins in love to you with
Your Old Friend John Capper
