| Transcript | To Herman Van Yzendoorn, Rotterdam10 May 1756 Sir: My last to you was 11th February Via London advising our Snow having sailed for your Place the 9th February. For particulars refer you to it. I have now before me your esteemed favours of the 12th & 25th December & 3rd February & observe the contents. Your Letter Via London came to hand 20th Ultimo & them by Captain Wilkenson the 1st Instant & have taken the first opportunity to reply thereto. Your goods are all sold but the Case of Cutlashes, Ledgers, Worms &c, A part of the Match & an Article or two of the Dry goods. I shall as soon as in my power make up the sales & forward them. They all turned ought right & are sold to a good Account, As to my Brothers affairs, I expect it is setled with you before this. Him & me has had a differance for some time past occasioned by his impudent beheavor to you & some more of his bad conduct. Your as well as Mr. Gregs goods by Captain Wilkenson are landed at Stanford, about Sixty Miles from this place. Since his arrival, we have had frequent Alarms with our Custom house officers. The other day, they seized a large Parcel of goods &. as they say, are resolved to stop the trade at all Events. At present, there is no such thing as bringing any Counterband goods to Town, so I have sent a sloop to cary what goods I had by Wilkenson to A place of greater safety where they must lye lo get A proper oppertunity to bring them here. You may depend nothing shall be left undone for your Interest. P. Livingston is a very safe, good Man, & I am convinced I nor no Person here can serve you better then he, so that I advise you to let your goods rest in his hands. I return you thanks for the trouble you took about my affair with Honson. Youl please credit my account for the enclosed Bills. Viz. I have now to advise you that from the 1st Instant Mr. Thomas Greg & I is in Partnership in the bussiness I cary on here. The Firm of our House is annexed. Your goods by Wilkenson comes under our Joint managment. I take this oppertunity to return you thanks for your past favours to me&. at the same time, to request the continuance of your good offices to our House. You may depend upon due care for our Friends Interest. The Snow Magog, Captain John Sheldon, will sail for your place about the 6th June. She will be consigned to you & about Fifty Tons of Logwood fay her, of which there will be Twenty five Tons for Mr. Thomas Greg and my account. If Insureance is done with you as cheap as in London, get £190 Sterling Insured on it. If not, order Messrs. Porter & Mierop to get it done & charge (he cost to Greg & Cunningham. If this reaches you in time, ship Bohea Tea of the same Quality of what you formerly shiped at 18 stivers per pound for what you think it will produce by the Brigg Brantford, John Wallace Master. If she is sailed before this comes to hand, ship it to Rhode Island to address of Mr. Andrew Hunter Merchant there. Insure the value of what you Ship. I must beg youl advise us often of ihe Currency of your Market, which will not only enable us to serve ourselves, but you.
