Gentlemen:
I wrote you 11th February by Captain Menzie for London, to which
please be refered.
I am now favoured with yours of the 13th December & 10th January &
observe the contents. I am much obliged to you for the Houses at Cadiz & Lisbon you mention.
When I have occasion, shall make use of them.
Your Tea by McDonald is sold. The Cambricks & Muslins are much
too fine for this Market, which will make very slow Sale.
I have stated your account Current as made by you. Inclosed you have
Thomas Sauls Bill on William Baker for £100 Sterling, Exchange 821/2
per Cent is £182.10 Currency to your debit.
Messrs. Livingston & Gordon of Kingston, Jamaica, advises me they
would ship in the Ship Dimond. Stephen Ancell, Master, Thirty Tons of
Logwood for my account to your address, & that they would give you
timely Notice to make Insurance on it, which I hope they have done, as
they dont mention to me the time the Vessel sails. On the arrival of said
Logwood, please dispose of it at the Current price & credit me for the
Proceeds. The Freight of it is to be 40s Sterling per Ton. These Gentlemen
will have to draw on you for £100 to £120 Sterling for (he disbursements
on A Vessel of mine that has been there, which please honour.
Mr. Thomas Greg & me are in Partnership in the trade caried on here
from the 1st Instant. Our Firm you have below. As you have already confered
many of your favours on me, I hope for the continuance of them to us. You
may be assured of our utmost endeavors to promote your Interest.
Annexed you have A list of sundry bills now enclosed, which please
do the needfull with & forward to Mr. Thomas Greg. WC
