Sir:
Annexed is Copy of what we wrote you by the Packet. Since we have
not heard from you. Trade from your place is on the same footing as when
I last wrote you, and we have taken all the precautions in our power for
the safety of our snow when she arrives.
There is a Prohibition from exporting Provisions which stops the shiping
off of Rice. It is at present A very dull article here [and] may be bought
at 12s per hundredweight. Logwood is sold at £9 to £10 per Ton.
I hope dayly to hear of the arrival of Captain Nealson. Corny keeps out
very long. Captain Sheldon will sail for your place about the time advised
in my last.
