| Transcript | To Capt. John Nealson [of the snow Prince of Wales], 21 July 1756 Dear Captain: I hope this will get you safe in New London. You will receive severall Letters from Mr. Joseph Chew Merchant there from me. In case you shoud get past the Boats that Mr. Chew has out Cruizing to meet you & Captain Stewart delivers you this in the sound, you must proceed directly for New London. Dispatch the Bearer as soon as you can with a load of our goods for Philadelphia, where if they get safe I expect they will remain so. I refer you to him for to Inform you the Circumstances the Dutch trade is Under. Captain Stewart has a Pillot for you on Board. You must [put] an apprentice in his Place & supply Captain Stewart with a Tarpoling &c. I would advice you to bring the Vessel down here derectly. Have her Cleared out in New London with Ballast, if you have no goods on Board from Rotterdam for the Kings Service. In that Case, the Clearance there will doe. If Mr. Beaches Money purchases more then one Chest of Tea, put what more is on Board the bearers sloop. WC |
