Gentlemen:

Our last was the 16th Ultimo by Captain Corny to which refer. All the
goods that was seized was sold last Wednesday, the 21st Instant. We bought
your Musketts at 15s each for your account & got the Cases passed as 25 in
each by giving a fee to the proper hand, So that on the whole, we expect
neither you nor us will lose by the Seizure. We shall mis no opportunity to
put them off.
We are favoured with yours of the 26th May by Captain Nealson. We are
sorry we cant come up to your expectation to close your sales as soon as
you expect. You may depend we shall loose no time & remit you as soon as we are in Cash. We have not the least hopes to be able to purchase the
Logwood you ordered. It now Sells from £11 To £12 per tunn.
A French ship was brought in here the 21st Instant called the Le Centaure,
Nicholas Hellanger Master, bound from Martinico to Bourdeaux loaded
with Sugar, Cotton, & Coffee. Her Cargo will be Sold in a very short time,
& we expect very reasonable.4 We have a great number of Privateers filing
out at this place. So we have great reason to expect Prize goods Will be
Sold reasonable here. G&C
