| Transcript | To Thomas Greg, Belfast, 30 August 1756 [sent from Philadelphia] Dear Sir: I have been brought here on the disagreeable Bussiness to Sollicit for A feavorable Sale for Seven Chests of our Arms & Nine Casks of Powder that came by Nealson thats Seized & must be very soon condemned. I hope I shall be able to bring it about. To accomplish it, nothing in my power shall be left undone. I look upon the rest of Nealsons Cargoe to be safe. I have got £250 this Currency Insured on goods by the Prince of Wales, John Nealson Master, to, at, &from Cadiz to Newyork at 19 per Cent which with what I wrote you to get Insured on said Vessel is all 1 propose to gel done on our account this Voyage. The remainder of our Interest we may She got out to Sea the 22nd Instant. Inclosed you have two Bills, Viz £200, John Duncan on John Calcraft in London, Exchange 85 per Cent, £370.0.0 £15, Michael Smith on Slingsby Bethel in ditto, Exchange 85 ditto, 25.15.0 £397.15.0 is to your debit. I shall remit you more when I get to New York, where I hope to be by the 5th September. I am but in a poor state of health. I am in hopes the approaching Season will recover me, for the Warm weather these two years has brought me low. As soon as I get to Newyork, you shall hear how I succeed here.
