| Transcript | To Thomas Greg, Belfast 19 September 1756 Dear Sir: Its now come to the 19th Instant & the packet yet detained by Contrary winds. I have the pleasure to inform you that a small Privateer sloop that we own one sixth of has brought in a large French schooner here bound from Martinico to old France worth at least £7,000. She with three Other prizes come up last night & one the night before all bound on the same Voyage. Our Privateer, which we call the Harlequin, Captain David Finten, lays Claim to one of the snows brought in being in sight when she was taken, & I expect we shall be allowed our Proportion. Our Privateer was but 28 Days on the Cruize. She is the only one we are Concerned in. I was almost forced to take a part in her, which she will Clear Double this Cruze. She Sails again in a Week.
