Gentlemen:

Our last was the 26th July by two opportunity who were detained for
a month by Lord Loudens orders. We have not had the pleasure to hear
from you since.
The Number of Privateers we have from this Port makes us Expect
Prize goods of all sorts will be sold very reasonable. The following French
Vessells are already brought in here:

The Le Centuar bound to Nantz from Martinico Value 19,000
160 To Haliday & Dunbar, Liverpool 13 October 1756
A small snow bound to Nantz from Ditto
The Le America bound to Ditto from Ditto
The St. Lambert bound to Bourdeaux from Ditto
The Le Fidelia bound to Ditto from Ditto
The only son bound to Bayone from Ditto
The shewal Maize bound to Nantz from Ditto
besides some Coasting Vessels,10 their Cargoes sold on speculation.

We will hold a third with you to any Amounts you see proper to
order. The Prize ships are often sold very Cheap here, being too large for
the trade of this place. Pray how would they sell In your Place? We have
gott off about half of the Manchester [goods]. They are much worse Sale this Year Then last. You may be assured that as soon as in our power,
we shall Close the sales of your goods & remitt you their proceeds which
we are sorry we Cant do with the Expedition you may Expect, entirely
Occasioned by the Turn The Dutch Trade has taken. G&C
