| Transcript | To George Dunlope, Ballycastle 27 November 1756 Sir: Annexed you have Copy of our last & are very sory to inform you that three of the best hands are left your ship, among them your Apprentice Mr. Dunlope is. They have entered on board of a Privateer, & as you have sent your Vessel here without the Act of Parliament, which Mr. Montgomery kept, as your Captain says, or a Servants Indenture, its not in our power to do any thing for you. But if you send us these Papers, & the Privateer has success, we shall be fully paid for all the damages you sustain. We have also the bad news to inform you of your servant the Shew maker runing away. We are much affraid it will be nigher the 20th January, nor the 20th December, when your Vessel sails, for she must be heaved down, as the Captain tells us, & indeed we are obliged to tell you, we think things on Board goes on very slowly. We are surprized that so much Butter as Eleven Firkins could be expended in one Voyage on board your ship. We shall talk to the Captain about them.
