We wrote to you the 1st Instant to which please be refered.
Inclosed you have Sales of your Box of goods. Proceeds £167.17.2 is
carried to your credit with WC, as is your debit with him the amounts of
Fifty Hogsheads of Flaxseed, now shiped you by the Ship William & George, Robert McCalmont Master, amounting lo £125. 5.3
& his bill on Thomas Greg for £23. 0.10
British Exchange 821/2 per Cent is 42.11.11
which balances your account. But please lo observe that there is two
sums outstanding on your Sales, & if any of them should prove bad,
your to account with him for it.
The most has been made of your goods, but cant encourage you to send
any more, but Linnens priced 8d to 1/6 per yard, as we are certain we
neither can give you satisfaction nor yet credit to ourselves in the Sales
of them.
We hope you'l find our Flaxseed as good & full as cheap as any
from the place, which it will give us pleasure to hear & have it in our
power at any time to render you any agreeable service here. G&C
