| Transcript | To John Potts, Belfast 13 January 1757 Sir: Having given you the need full advice of the Flaxseed we were shiping for you, have now to enclose you Invoice & Bills of Lading for 16 Hogsheads & Six Half Hogsheads of Flaxseed shiped on the William & George, Robert McCalmont Master, for your Place, & Ninety Hogs heads & Twenty Half Hogsheads of Flaxseed shiped in the Waddell, Charles Stewart Master, for Newry, both amounting to £295.14.5 is to your Debit, the bearer, Captain McCalmont, is clear to Sail, & Captain Stewart is also full but will have to wait some days for his hands. We are in hopes the Flaxseed will give great content & be full as cheap as any from the place. Inclosed you have your account Current with WC. Balance due him £4.11 is brought to your debit with us, as is £5.12.0 this Currency, money advanced your Brother, Mr. D. Potts, the 7th August by Scott & McMichael of Philadelphia, & we also debit your account for money advanced him also by said Gentlemen the 2 Instant £10.13.4 this Currency, all which I suppose he has advised you of, the Exchange between this & Philadelphia is 622/3 per Cent. As the Ross dis not yet appear, nor the Greg come to this place. We must take the first good ship that offers to take in your Flaxseed of which you shall have regular advice.
