| Transcript | Mr Cornelius Riordan N° 2 Shortstreet Boston Massachusetts N. America Paid Milltown 26th August 1845 My dear Children On the 19th Instant I received your Letter of the 31st of July with an enclosure of £5. We are all well thank God and ^I hope^ this will find you all in good health. Your Mother and I never forget in our prayers night and day to beg of the Almighty to continue his favours to all of you and to grant ye his blessing and protection. I did not go to Killarney since I received your Letter, but I suppose Riordan will not go out until the beginning of next season and I will have the blackthorn stick for him to carry out to Thomas. I would have gone to killarney since the arrival of your Letter but I feared your Brother Michl would suspect that I received a Letter. I did not let him know any thing about it as I know he could not be persuaded that I would not be the cause of your not sending him some relief. He is impatiently expecting an answer to my last letter. He knows nothing about this and certainly I would not write for some time but I judged that you would wish to hear from us and to know whether the check arrived with us. Your friends and neighbours are all well and express their pleasure at all times to hear that ye are all well. My dear Children, your Mother joins with me to send you our love and blessing and I remain your affectionate Father James Prendergast |
