Dear Mother
I had intended writing you sometime
since stating to you Andrews death but
I gave newspapers to James to send you [?] of
them which he said he did, He was bad for two
months, but was complaining for some time
Before that labouring under Epilipsy [Epilepsy?] which he
died of you saw by the newspaper sent [?] he died
on the 29th July making him one month
short of Being Twenty-five years of age. James
Bought a lot of Ground in a new Burial
place and we had him decently intered [interred?].
James left Two weeks since for the West
Indies Island of Cuba to Run a Sugar cane
manufacturer - it will be a good job for the
winter months as we Expect a hard
winter, all Buisnes [Business?] is suspended most of the
Banks shut up for Time to make species
payments which some of them perhaps [?]
Factories stoped [stopped?] hands turned Idle, it will
take a time to bring Buisnes [Business?] to its proper [?]
Give my best regards to all my friends
please write me soon and give me the
news how all is
