| Transcript | Wilkesbarre, May 1820 Dear Ann I did not know the good people were going to start so soon or I should have had a long letter prepared for you. As it is you will just accept this as em... of my remembrances, and also my sincere un... affection for you. Uncl Joe has I expect told you all the news of the village: at all events Mis Sinton will he able to tell you what he omitted. The McCoys are just in the same state as when you left them: the girls will be home I believe the latter end of The week. When I write again, which will be shortly, I shall be able to tell you more about them. I know you feel much interested in them. The old lady amidst all her afflictions has not forgotten you. She speaks of you often with much affection. Jacob and Emily ... to you and please remember me most affectionately to William and kiss dear little pug for me. I am in great haste, just heard they were going and run up here and have sat down to write this scrawl to say I have not forgotten you, and love you most dearly.
