| Transcript | New York 4 mo 29th 1822 Esteemed friends I have a letter from thy brother Thomas Greeves (without date) handing me a Dft for £60.0.0. Irish on Andrew Gray of chis place, which sum is for thine & Anns use to assist in your return to Ireland in case you conclude to do so; but whether or not, he desires me to hold it to thy order. In the event of your return, he Queries with me whether it would be best to come this way or to go by way of Quebec. I would suppose the best vessels could be had from this place and as there are several running to Belfast would suppose this the most convenient. But if thou would think otherwise, thou might probably wish this money or a part of it sent to Quebec, as Thomas says, to care of James Sinton. Thou will however consult thy wife on which is best for you to do and I shall be ready to assist you all I can, and will also apply this money as you may direct.
