My Dearest Uncle

I dare say you think I am never going to answer your two very kind & welcome letters
Indeed dear Uncle I would have done so long ago but many circumstances prevented me & also
I was trying to glean what information I could about that old fortune & dear Uncle I had to wait
for some time ere I could get any person to make inquiry at the Chancery Court and it was only
last week I obtained any information from that quarter. My Sister being in Dublin I wrote to her
& sent Her all the information I could. So She went to the Chancery Court and they would not
tell Her anything about It as She had not the paper that the advertisement appeared on. They
told Her that they remembered the name being on the book & no more. I also wrote to ….
