| Transcript | Monaghan 13th January 1857 Dear James I was greatly disappointed when on examination the letter of an Attorney you Sent me did not Authorize me to bring An Ejectment Process against Mr David Ross you will therefore without delay Send me a letter of an attorney Authorizing and empowering Me to bring an Ejectment against Mr David Ross I Send a Notice to Quit which Sally & Jane and their Husbands must Sign their names unto. And I also send a notice which you are to sign and you are to State what Month & day of the Month that the two years Commenced that you gave your part to Mr D Ross The Notices Must be Served on Mr Ross in the month of April Next therefore let me have them without delay and also one pound thirteen & 4 each which is Five pounds which will put an end to this troublesome business. Your Aunt & I went Several times to Mr Ross to Dunrimond to get possession and all to no purpose of all the Men I ever knew he exceeds them Aunt is greatly Surprised At At his conduct in this Matter, as to your Brother John I thought I had nothing to do but to give him the four pounds that you allowed me to pay him to get the possession but it would not do I was informed he would not take double the Sum It would appear that Mr Ross & he understands each other in the matter. However I think the notice to Quit & the Ejectment will bring them to their Senses. I will leave nothing undone in the matter Mrs Campbell’s Attorney wanted me to bring a Dublin Ejectment against Mr Ross but that would Cost ₤14.0.0 therefore I would not take it on myself to do it – direct your letter to me in Care of Mrs Bond Dublin Street Monaghan.
