Dear Sir I heast these few lines to you hoping you will return a word to them as Soon as you
receive them i heard that my cousin John [McTavish] was drownd & i am very uneasy to hear
the [certainty] of it as me and my sister is in behopes it is false I have been looking for him and
his wife this last Five months as he promised to bring her to New York the next trip he made
that was last Winter now i Sent my love to his wife and i would receive a few lines from her
with the greatest of gratitude all so i Should be very much oblige To you if you would Send my
[Uncle] James Lee’s directions So as i can write to them all so if you can find out where my
mother has moved to as John told me She was going to Leave where she was and coming
nearer [Saint] Johns that is Johns aunt Jane Gibson Now I can [end] with my [Introduction] To
you all write soon as i am uneasy to hear To hear the truth you can direct your letter to Susan
