Transcript | Lower NewCaste Dec. 12th 1902 Dear Brothers. I will write to you to let you know we are all pretty well and hope to find you the same. The weather is very cold just now Mike and I were out at Sullivan’s last Saturday We got their letter they were very glad to hear from you. All the neighbours are pretty well Auntie Ellen was out a Sunday. Willie went out to the office a Wednesday and got no mail because the mailman went down a Tuesday and he was not up a Wednesday about dinner time. We did not get your letters until Friday morning. We wrote as soon as we got them. We were very glad when we got word from you so soon. Jack is haulen wood and Joe is at the mill now. They are building the camp now. I guess poor old bruce get the wait of a the whip pretty often. Jim at the had the team up himself one day. They got the water to the house and then it got frozen and now they have all the pipes up. I dont know if they are gone to put them down again or not. William Smith was up the day mike came down after taken you up. He got no wood cut yet. I am busy knitting now for Ned. I think he will be out maby a Sunday. Joe is gone to keep up the steam this winter I guess. We are all well and Mamma and papa sends their compliments to both. Arch drives bruce one day and bruce drives him two We got both letters on Saturday Mike and Willie went in to see Ned on Monday they took the Colt. Write soon I wrote as soon as I got it a Friday morning They have no wood down here now to make a fire. The smelts are very scarce I dont think I have any more news to write to you this time.
