Dear Brothers.

We are all pretty well at present and hope to find you the same. We got
you letter a Thursday Night. It snowed some a Tuesday and it blew and drifted ever since but
today it is very fine. The roads are not very good around here just now. Mike went in to see Ned
this afternoon. Birnetta Carrol died a Tuesday night and was buried a Friday it was the meanest
funeral that I ever saw there were only 4 or 5 horses went to the Church. Tom Wallace did pass
our place Mike & Willie went down with them. Bill Doyle and Willie Fox snowshoed out a
Thursday and mike Mike went down and helped them to dig the grave. There is going to be an
Election the 28th there are four new fellows out John Morrissy, Donald Morrison, George Watt
& W.S. Loggie they say it is going to be pretty hot some say that Tweedie is gone to go out. I
think it will be held at the same old places. We will [damage] [and] ye the [unclear] and
[damage] will see it for yourselves. Mike said to tell ye he would write only [damage] going in to
see [Dwingen] to him. His back is getting better now. I have not any more news worth writing this
time. How do ye like the work ye are at now. what is it. There is that much snow in the woods
now that they have to shov[damage] the yards. Pat Sullivan is in with Mike Fox with the team.
Tom why dont you never write write a letter to willie some time he never got one yet. Is it to St
Marys Church ye go to when ye go to Church in Maine. Please excuse bad writing. I suppose you
were looking for a letter before now. All sends their compliments
I remain yours truly
