| Transcript | Lower Newcastle April 12 1903 To Mr John J McCarthy Dear old Friend its with the greatest of pleasure I now sit down to answer your kind and welcome letter which I received the other day and was glad to hear that you are well Well John the Snow is nearly all gon of the fields and the roads [damage] run down the big [damage] to day All the Connells and Foxes are away driving they say they are [paying] two dollars and a [damage] day up the river Russell is not dun sawing Birch yet and will not get dun for a month yet he has about 300 cords to get out of the woods the mill is down this two weeks the mill men were in the woods cutting Birch But he is going to start to saw to morrow [damage] The Ice [hasnt] run in the maine river yet but it is getting pretty sick [damage] So few saw Tom [damage] -----{material missing}----- |
