| Transcript | Thomas McMahon, Philadelphia, to Mathew Carey, Philadelphia, 21 February 1791 Sir I hope you will excuse the liberty I take in writing to you but the necesety of my case & haveing no friend in this City Obliges Me to it I am from Dublin which place I left the 25th day of march last by Trade a Hosier unfortunate for me the<y> wont trade in this City as there is no work but for the summer Season then the<y> can earn little more than clears there Board <and> of course can lay nothing up for these times, hearing of your goodness & readiness to Serve your Country men emboldend me to apply to you, if you would be so good to procure me any decent employ you will relieve the distrest yr Humb Servt Feby 21st 1791 ThosMcMahon will call for Answer any time you Appoint |
