| Transcript | Ballymaguire Stewartstown J. [John?] Stanley Esqre 19th March 1849 Sir Having taken out letters of Administion [Administration?] in the prerogative court of Armagh to the property of my brother, the late Wm [William?] Anderson of Ballymaguire, bearing date the 2nd day of November 1847, for which I then paid you, and in which transaction you acted very friendly and kindly to us, but I was much surprised a few days ago, on receiving a printed letter, a circular from the stamp office in Dublin, calling on me to pay a further duty, which I do not fully comprehend. I wish to avoid all litigation and to keep free of the meshes of the law. I thought that when I paid you for your trouble, I had finally settled for the whole affair, without being again called on for any more. you are scarcely aware of how difficult money is to be procured in this country and therefore hope you will keep me safe from any more trouble or expence [expense?] I request that you will have the kindness to write me a few lines directing me what I am to do.
