| Transcript | [Letter 3] [Page 1] Tuesday evening May 30th 1899 My Dear James I think its now three Weeks Cinc [since?] we got a letter and we are Thinking long every Day expecting one perhaps we will have one this week. We trust and hope there is nothing wrong I hope you have got the money all right we just commenced to cut turff [turf?] yesterday - the weather is good now and work will go on again. William Bell and Eliza is in Strabane today getting new Dresses The [they] got the cloath [cloth?] from Manchester - They wrote for patterns and the [they] come a Basefull - So after some time they will get there [their] picture taken and send them our Thomy [Tommy?] is clipping some of the sheep to Day. - 21 will be clipped to Day. I think they have above 80 in all. [Page 2] how are you getting along in [every?] way I hope you are not Getting tired of learning now when its comming [coming?] up to July Do Not loose courage you know to loose courage means loss - But when you Do your Best you can do noman [no man?] I supose [suppose?] everything conected [connected?] with it is hard and ill to get through with what time will the examination take place and how much for entery [entry?] get anything you stand in of and Keep yourself in order and above all Keep good company Convay [convey?] this [these?] sad [tidings?] to you [your?] Uncle [ones?] I have heard cince [since?] I commenced to write that he died at 8 o'clock this morning tuesday so I cannot tell what is done as yet or what time the funeral will take place after the funeral we will write again J.
