| Transcript | To: Agnes [Cupples, Loughbrickland, Co. Down?] From: 10138 Wallace St. [Street?] Station P. Chicago, Illinois. My dear Agnes. I am duly in receipt of your kind letter of the 2nd inst. [instant?] and I must say I was very much surprised and grieved to hear of Williams death, it was a great blessing he did not suffer much pain when the end came, the two girls I hope will be a source of great comfort to you in the future-you are certainly entitled to a great deal of sympathy, as it has been your sad lot to see the entire family laid to rest, and I hope the Lord will sustain you in the future, as he has done in the past- I have been looking over the Photographs of the family and I find I have no likeness of Williams except one taken a great many years since, if he had any taken lately I wish you would send me one, such also of the two girls, as I would like to have them. I saw by the papers some time since that Mitchell Henry's place in Galway was advertised to be sold at public auction the 4th of July last. it [It?] was quite a large estate comprising fourteen thousand acres of land with all needed conveniences, had you heard anything about it? Jennie and her two children were up here and made us a visit in November last, she has two interesting children a girl and a boy. Aggie and her family live near us only two streets apart she has also has [sic] two nice children a son and a daughter, and they are all well. We have had some cold weather, the ground is covered with snow and good sleighing. How is Sam Henry's health? give him my best respects. We are all well here, and all join with me in kind love to yourself and the two children. I am Dear Agnes you affectionate Brother. Alexander Cupples. January 16th 1895 |
