Armagh Ireland

My Dear Sir
I do not know if you will remember me
or not I was a clerk in your office for about five
or six months in 1878. when Mr Edwin Best and
Mr James Edwards were in the office. After leaving
your office I shortly afterwards came to the United
States and have been here ever since.
States. With this explanation as to my identity I
will proceed with my business which I hope you will
be able to attend to for me.
My Grandfather John Davidson lived within
about four miles of Dungannon - I think on what was
called the Lisgallen road, County of Tyrone. I
believe he owned the property upon which he lived,
which consisted of a small farm upon which there was
a good water power used to run a small flaxmill
I visited him just before leaving Ireland and
at that time a nephew of his - James Taylor was
living with him - My grandfather died soon after I
left Ireland and I never heard whether he made any
will or what has become of his property -
perhaps this nephew James Taylor is in possession of
it I would be very glad if you will have some
inquiries made in regard to this and if I have any
claim in the property will you undertake to collect
it or do what you think is best in the matter.
I regret it exceedingly that I have not
attended to this matter long before. But I trust you
may be able to attend to it for me now & that you
find i can get something.
With very best wishes for your good health &
that of your family & hoping to hear from you at your
earliest convenience.
I am yours very respectfully
Robert James Davidson
